NJ Baby Shower Photography
Sophia’s friends had been planning her baby shower but they hadn’t done the bit about the photographer. They got in touch with me couple of days before the shower and lucky me, I was available.
The shower was held at The Gallery Room of Stonehouse at Stirling Ridge. It was a very hot summer day and so we decided to stay inside for the group photos. Other than that it was just candid people photography, stuff that I enjoy most and making sure I got the special moments of Sophia’s special day with her friends and family.
As I figured, it was a white theme, and quite appropriate for a baby shower. It was great, since the gallery room has nice exposed brick walls for texture but painted white which matched the theme of the baby shower. I took some photos while Sophia’s friends were putting finishing touches to the décor before he arrival. With her arrival, the party started. The gallery room has two levels and just the right size for the party like this. The upper level has seating area and the bar. The lunch table was beautifully set up in the lower level, following the white theme.
I got some nice candid portraits, while the lunch was going on. After the lunch we went through a few group shots. On that bright sunny day, beautiful natural light was coming through the large ceiling to floor glass windows that ran the whole length of the room. I used flash when necessary to complement the natural light. I used diffused on camera flash for the candid shots and a simple off camera flash setup with umbrella for the group shots.
I have to say that I couldn’t have hoped for any better clients than Sara and Nicki, who hired me. This NJ baby shower photography was not a big event, but it felt great to be able to this for them and Sophia!
