70th Birthday Party Photography Heartland Brewery Chophouse
It is always great to have a repeat client. So when Wendy called about 70th Birthday Party Photography at Heartland Brewery Chophouse for her mom, Betty, I was thrilled. Not so long ago I photographed the retirement party for Wendy’s Dad. It was at that time Betty had contacted me, referred by Beth Fink. This time it was Betty’s turn to have a party, but this was a surprise party for her. Wendy had the perfect event planner to help her out and everything came out great.
Beth’s closest friends took an active party in planning the details about the party. The interesting thing was the crossword puzzle about Betty, which was placed at every seat. She went to Penn State and so Beth got caps with Penn State emblem for everyone. Even the napkins were specially designed for the occasion – with Penn State logo. The star of the show was the cake. Betty loves burger, as I learned and this was a huge cheeseburger – only that it was a cake. It was outrageous. Beth came of the idea and Suzi Cakes delivered.
This is the election year and Beth supports Hillary. So the thought was to get her believe that she was coming to a meeting of Hillary’s supporters. Not sure how much of that Beth believed to be true, but she appeared genuinely surprised. The ambience at the Heartland Brewery and Chophouse was great. It was lit like restaurants usually are. Lot of mood lighting which is really not that great for photography given that in a party like that you are going to have to take a lot of candid shots. I had to use flash and had to take care not to spoil the feel of the ambient lighting in the finished images. I did pretty good I think.
