40th Birthday Party Moonshine Supper Club
Dara was planning her 40th Birthday Party Moonshine Supper Club. She was recommended by Beth Fink Events and also her friend whose 40th birthday party I had photographer in the recent past. It feels great to get hired based on word of mouth and local clients are always special.
Moonshine Supper Club is a popular destination. The party room is upstairs where there is a bar and few areas inclding an open ari terrace to hang out. There is a small dance floor and a banquet table with couches around. It is a great setting for an intimate party ideally around 50-60 guests.
The space was nicely decorated with some elegant signage. In the room at the back, there was a step and repeat and a table with some props that the guests could pose with Next to it was a popcorn machine.
The dance floor is small and not too many people could dance at the same time. However the ladies were having a great time on the dance floor with the DJ Mike Myers playing some cool music.
There was a lot of food that was going around and some looked pretty exotic. There were custom designed napkins. The cake was huge and fancy. The candle was a mini fire cracker.
It is never easy to photograph a party in this kind of setting where the ambient lighting is very low. On camera flash is a must as a party like this does not allow off camera flash managed by assistants. So the challenge is minimize the appearance of flash usage and make it so that once feels it is all ambient light. Even with much care, it is impossible to hide the appearance of on camera flash from all the images.
